Fieldwork Overview
Last summer, I spent several weeks at Auchencorth Moss collecting peat cores and calibrating air sensors. My days began before dawn—setting up quadrats, sampling soil and vegetation, and ensuring each instrument was precisely leveled and zeroed. Immersed in the wild peatland, I learned firsthand the challenges of remote data collection and the importance of rigorous QA/QC in the field.

The photo above captures a moment during my routine sampling—every grab of peat adds a piece to our understanding of habitat health.
